⚠️ No Metro to Airport Yet — 2026 Status
The Blue Line airport metro (Silk Board → KR Puram → Hebbal → Yelahanka → KIAL) is under construction. Expected opening: late 2026, though BMRCL timelines have historically slipped. Currently, the nearest metro station to the airport is Nagasandra on the Green Line — from there, take a cab (₹600–900) or BMTC airport bus. Check BMRCL's official website for the latest Blue Line completion update before planning airport trips.
✅ Namma Metro Travel Tips
Peak hours (8–10 AM, 5:30–8 PM) are very crowded — women's coaches are less crowded. Majestic (Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station) is the main interchange between Purple and Green Lines — allow 5 minutes for platform change. RV Road is the Green–Yellow interchange for Electronic City. The BMRCL app lets you plan journeys, check real-time train status and find nearest stations. QR code tickets are now accepted at all stations — buy via UPI directly.
