Bangalore — officially Bengaluru — is India’s third-largest city and its technology capital. Home to over 14 million people, it sits at 920 metres above sea level on the Deccan Plateau, which gives it one of the most temperate climates of any large Indian city. You will rarely need an air conditioner or a heater here. That comfort is part of why people move to Bangalore and rarely leave.

The city’s food scene is as layered as its neighbourhoods. Malleswaram and Jayanagar carry the flavours of old Bangalore — century-old darshinis, heritage South Indian thalis and filter coffee served in small steel cups. Indiranagar and Koramangala have evolved into some of India’s most vibrant restaurant streets, covering craft beer, Asian fusion, rooftop dining and everything in between. HSR Layout and Yelahanka represent the newer face of the city: self-sufficient, diverse and quietly excellent.
